Having been coated in a thick layer of construction debris, it has been easy to drive along Oxford rd and miss Trabella altogether. Which is a huge pity! Thankfully, only the scaffolding now remains and it has returned to its status as one of Joburg’s must visit Italian restaurants.

Great value, awesome spot - Trabella won't disappoint.

Whenever I think thin crust pizza with perfect cheese and that charred crust, smokey taste, I think La Rustica. Although it is situated just off the dodgy end of Louis Botha, you feel like you’re in another country altogether when you’re there. Great pizza, great atmosphere, all you need is the company and you’re set!

I’ve been going to The Radium Beerhall so long that I didn’t even think to tell you about it until now. Being the oldest surviving pub in the city, you’ve probably heard about it. But driving past it along Louis Botha, I wouldn’t blame you for carrying on ... Joburg’s oldest pub can be your new spot!

I have driven past the Parkhurst branch plenty times before, but Lucky Moo just seemed like a cleverly designed and franchised Chinese food outlet to me. Okay yes, that’s essentially what it is, but it’s the kind of cleverly designed and franchised Chinese food outlet... Lucky me, Lucky Moo.

16 Feb 2012 1 East meets West
I have a long-standing love affair with Kong Roast in Fourways – and have enjoyed MANY get-togethers with friends, a few memorable birthday parties and some highly successful reader events at this phenomenal restaurant over the years.  East meets West

I only very recently discovered this new find and already it has worked its way onto my craving list. Chateau Gateaux is a divine patisserie that has just opened in the Thrupps centre in Illovo and I can’t wait to go back! Have your cake, eat it, repeat.

I absolutely adore baking – but it is rare that I find a recipe book that inspires me to to cook something fabulous without being intimidated. bitten. by  Sarah Graham is justsofabulous that I got an extra copy to give away to one lucky reader! My new favourite recipe book!
