My BFG (Best Friend Giselle) speaks VERY highly of Café Eleven Forty Five in Blairgowrie – in fact, she loves it so much that she edited her entire book there. With stories of piping hot cups of tea served in silver teapots, and the most delicious slices of cake served with mascarpone cheese, I dragged her along with me so I could check it out in person.

Café Eleven Forty Five – a real gem!

I have written before about Junipa’s in the Hobart Grove Shopping Centre, but returned for another visit when I heard that they are seriously capturing the market when it comes to food for kids. And seeing as though I am becoming very disillusioned with the food at many chi... Junipa’s – big food for little people!

I was rather sad when one of my favourite second-hand furniture stores closed down in Parkhurst, but delighted to discover that it was being replaced with a new bistro and deli! I popped in on Friday to check it out and take a few photos, and fell in love with the menu! Possums – new to Parkhurst!

08 Sep 2011 1 Gourmet – The Jozi Way
I must stay that I have become quite a foodie lately (really, I have no idea why I don’t have my own TV show!) Anyway, having enjoyed so many different interpretations of what good food is, I have become quite picky about where to eat! Which is why I loved Lucky Bean Restaurant Gourmet – The Jozi Way

One of my all-time favourite bakeries is Vovo Telo, which necessitates a trip across town to 44 Stanley in Milpark (no hardship, really – but quite a trek for just a quick fix of Pain Aux Chocolat!) Imagine my delight when I discovered that they have just opened a new branc... New Vovo Telo Bakery opens in Parkhurst

I always joke about food that is gluten free, sugar free and dairy free – I can only assume it must also be fun free! My experience at Café Strive has changed that view. Café Strive- healthy eating with flair!

I have often frequented The Westcliff Hotel for their stunning sundowners and tapas menu at the Polo Bar – there’s something to be said for ending a working day off with a divinely relaxing cocktail accompanied by snacks. Brunch at the Westcliff Hotel
