I don’t know about you, Darlings but my week isn’t complete until I’ve taken a trip to the hairdresser (let’s just say my hairdryer and I have issues). That being said, on my most recent visit to Carlton Hair Hyde Park, I opted for a look that just screams ‘holiday-ready’ … in other words, I decided to Flamboyage my tresses!
Now before you assume that I don’t know how to spell the word ‘flamboyance’ or something, I’ll have you know that Flamboyage actually enhances the natural tone of your hair, leaving no visible regrowth. It’s a modern, low-maintenance hair colour technique created by Angelo Seminara for Davines. The colourist, Fatima (who is completely awesome by the way!), basically stuck strands of my hair to clear adhesive paper (it’s a lot more technical than that but I thought I’d break it down for you).
With Flamboyage, the colourist has a lot of control because he or she can watch the colour process through the transparent strip. Either way, I’m super glad I did it … my hair looked great! I should tell you though that it looks best on a solid hair colour.
I may have overindulged a little, but I also decided to try out the two-step Olaplex in-salon treatment while I was ‘Flamboyaging’ my hair. Olaplex No.1, a bond multiplier, has a high concentration and is added to the treatment before processing. It then penetrates the hair and rebuilds bonds as they are broken down by the process (it was left in my hair for about 20 minutes).
Olaplex No.2 was then applied to my hair and left in for a further 10 minutes, whilst I had my head, neck and shoulders massaged (heavenly!). Oh, and just so you know, the No.3 Olaplex Hair Perfector is recommended for use at home to maintain your hair’s health between salon visits (it retails for about R405). All in all, I definitely enjoyed my visit to Carlton that day!
Say Hi to Carlton Hair on .
