There’s no doubt about it – without cute skirts, beautiful blouses, sassy trousers and pretty dresses life just wouldn’t be complete. I mean, how would we express ourselves and let the world know who we are without fabulous fashion? We have come a long way since ancient cave women had to adorn themselves with nothing but leaves and animal skin, and I for one am super grateful for that. Here in South Africa we have so many amazing international brands available and being super stylish has never been easier, but I’ve always wanted to find a stunning local brand that I can support on the regular. A fashion brand that understands the needs of South African women and offers them the opportunity to own beautiful clothing pieces at affordable prices. And Darlings, today I am ecstatic to let you know I have found all that in Bibi Rouge and I just know you are going to adore their stuff as much as I do!

The proudly South African fashion line is designed and created by Sabrina Kennedy right here in Joburg and specialises in high-class affordable clothing that is both fashionable and super flattering to the female shape. I love that the Bibi Rouge gear is ultra comfortable and made to fit a woman’s curves so that she looks and feels beautiful. Just one glance at Sabrina’s line and you will notice that there is a huge emphasis on femininity and bringing out the natural beauty of the woman wearing the item – soft flowing lines combined with sheer and soft fabrics create a line that is beyond girly. Trust me when I say it’s hard not to feel beautiful while wearing one of Sabrina’s creations!

Sabrina sells her creations online through the Bibi Rouge online store so no matter where you are in South Africa you can invest in one of her pieces. I also love that some of the garments you order from Bibi Rouge are made to order (depending on the size) so a lot of the time your garment has been made just for you! What’s more most of the items can be ordered in both the displayed colours and fabrics as well as most other available fabric and colours – which means you can place a special order for a signature Bibi Rouge dress in the colour of your choice!

In addition to the online store Sabrina and Bibi Rouge also host regular pop-up shops where fans of the brand can come through to try things on and shop up a storm. I got the chance to attend one of their most recent pop-up shops and absolutely loved it! Not only can you touch, feel and try on the Bibi Rouge goodies but Sabrina also invites various other accessory, beauty and lifestyle brands along to the pop-up shop to create a market-type feel on the day. Fashionistas can shop for the outfit of their dreams, pair it with the perfect accessories, get their nails done and then munch on a yummy cupcake to get their energy back – it’s any woman’s dream day really.

But back to Bibi Rouge and their amazing fashion! I got to try on loads of stuff on the day (seriously I was a change-room hog!) and fell in love with the ultra stylish Gwen Coat in red, black and khaki (a mix of military and baby doll combined in one coat with an over-sized hood – R730), the chic and sassy Anna Top in black, teal, dark green, coral and navy blue (a super flattering soft-feel chiffon top with double layered chiffon  and a lengthened back – R269) and the Kiki Shirt/Dress in black and white (the perfect casual or evening wear item made from stretch fabric to flatter all shapes and sizes - R250).

I also love Sabrina’s dresses and her Jenny Evening Dress in black (a floor length dress made in stretch viscose fabric – R590) or her Taylor Dress in black, navy and beige (a high quality soft-feel chiffon dress with pretty layers to hide all those sins – R530) are the perfect choices for your next cocktail party or special occasion.
