Darlings, let’s face it … when the seasons change, our beauty routine needs to, too. Why, you ask? Well, you see, with colder weather comes dry skin, chapped lips and scratchy eyes, for example … that’s not so fabulous, is it? Luckily, Maybelline has brought out some brilliant new products that I recently got my hands on and am already loving for the chilly season ahead!
First up is their luxuriously velvety Dream Velvet Foundation. Packaged in a handy tube, this foundation is the furthest thing from drying … in fact, its soft-matte formula manages to hydrate your skin while keeping your complexion looking matte.
I find that it works like a charm on my skin, which tends to be dryish, so I highly recommend it for the winter when everyone is prone to dry or flaky skin. What’s more is it’s long-lasting and stays looking fresh all day or night long, even when you don’t apply a primer beforehand.
Next up is the Go Chaotic! Volum’ Express Mascara. I love the fun yellow and black packaging and the thick tube that the product comes in. As far as the formula is concerned, it’s fantastic … I have sensitive eyes and it doesn’t irritate them at all. Plus, it’s super-black and manages to lengthen and thicken lashes without causing clumping.
Last up are the two Master Ink liquid liners that I’m currently obsessed with. I tried two of them … the Satin liner in 01 Luminous Black, and the Glitter liner in 20 Black Gold. The Luminous Black liner is a jet black liner, while the Black Gold is a charcoal shade with hues of gold glitter.
Both liners are packaged in a bottle that boasts a fine brush that’s just perfect for achieving that flawless cat-eye look. I love wearing the plain black liner on a naked eyelid or over a soft smokey eye, while I adore the glittery one over a bold black and bronze smokey eye. They don’t dry out or crease like most liquid liners do, which I’m majorly impressed by!
