Darlings, there’s nothing quite like a quality cup of coffee and a decadent slice of your favourite cake, is there? I recently came across a little gem of a café tucked away in Rivonia by the name of Café Tavia that serves up just that … it’s well worth a visit!
I arrived at Café Tavia on a warm, sunny Saturday morning with my boyfriend, so we opted to sit at one of the high tables out on the deck. After having a quick look at their simple yet tempting menu, we both decided to order a cappuccino, a macaroon and a plate of eggs benedict.
Our coffees arrived first, and were top-notch … I’m so happy that I’ve found another great coffee spot to add to my list! Then came our breakfasts, and they were beyond delicious … my eggs were perfectly poached, and the hollandaise sauce was creamy and ever-so moreish … I enjoyed every last bite!
Before we left the café, we picked out some bagels and cupcakes from their selection of baked goods on sale to take home with us, which we enjoyed later that day. All I can say is that I’ll certainly be returning for more of their divine cake soon!
Café Tavia is an unpretentious yet trendy little spot to tuck into a tasty breakfast or lunch, Darlings. You can even pop in to make use of them as a coffice, considering the coffee is fabulous and there’s free WiFi on offer, too. Go and try it out for yourselves the next time you’re in the area!
