I don’t have a defined style (there – I said it!). It’s true … I usually just go with my instincts, and I love to change my mind and try different looks. Having said that, I recently stumbled upon this awesome little boutique in Parkhurst called Journey Lifestyle, and I’m already itching to go back!
Now, if you think I’m off my rocker because the Journey that you know is in Melville (or even in Cape Town … because that’s where Kyla, the owner, is from), I will have you know that it quite recently moved to Parkhurst (you can find it under The Wolfpack if you need a landmark). If you haven’t had the pleasure of perusing this little boutique, I suggest you pay them a visit … and soon!
Journey prides itself on showcasing local designers and has everything from Gabriela Fraser Designs and Jinjer Jack to Hamaji and MISC (a designer that I am now completely in love with!). If you’re into strong bohemian-styled clothes, exciting prints and beachy, flowy and even casual tops and pants, you’ll definitely find something that piques your interest here.
They even have a gorgeous shoe range all the way from London (check out the pics below or on Journey’s website) if you’re into footwear that is quirky and distinctive.
Just remember, though … because the clothes are made by South African designers (and are truly unique … you won’t regularly bump into someone who’s wearing the same top as you!), things can get quite pricey. Though, I bought a beautiful orange, black and cream silk MISC top with gold detailing (it’s made from a Sari – how stunning is that?), which cost about R385 and I have never looked back! I wear it with almost everything.
So, Darlings, the next time that you’re in Parkhurst for catch up time with the girls, or a romantic dinner for two, why not take a walk past Journey? You’ll be glad you did!
Say Hi to Journey Lifestyle on .
