Nothing ruins a beautifully made up face like wonky eyebrows! Your eyebrows frame your face and are largely responsible for making your peepers look bright and sparkly. Despite this, many women don't pay much attention to the upkeep of their brows – I’m ashamed to say I go through stages of neglecting them altogether and moments of panicked over-zealous plucking before an important event. Luckily for me, and my brows, I've recently discovered Eyecandy Brows!

Eyecandy is the first dedicated threading and lash bar in South Africa, and after huge success in Cape Town Eyecandy is finally in Joburg. What I love most about Eyecandy is it deals only in brows and eyelash extensions – so you know they must be good at it! The brow bars offer the ultimate experience in creating alluring eyes by using the ancient beauty method of threading to shape and enhance your eyebrows. Plus, I was super relieved to find out that it doesn’t hurt much at all – more like a light pinch if anything.

Their team of experienced therapists are specially trained in the art of threading and brow shaping. The Eyecandy experience is also so much more than just getting your eyebrows shaped. When you sit down in an Eyecandy therapist's chair you will be treated to the full Eyecandy experience which includes: a pre-treatment consultation and a post-treatment massage, to pamper and soothe the skin.

Plus, as an extra treat for customers Eyecandy uses its very own line of beauty creams and oils for the massage (and they smell and feel divine!) The line includes a soothing aloe cream with avocado and Jojoba oils, a comforting and calming rose oil cream, and spicy and exciting pepper oil that awakens the senses.
The basic brow shape costs R80 and takes about 15 – 30 minutes (depending on how much of a state your brows are in. They’ll also dye your brows for you if you ask. If you’re looking to get your upper or lower lip or chin threaded it’ll cost R50 for each area.

For now Eyecandy brow and lash bars can be found at select Woolworths stores around Joburg namely Woolworths Eastgate Mall and Woolworths Sandton. I go to the Sandton bar all the time and absolutely love it – the best part is I’m in and out in just 15 minutes!
