If there is one thing I love, it’s a sophisticated, luxurious leather handbag to have and to hold – especially if it’s from Bloss & Co. You will be there for me on fat days, bad hair days – and on days when I’m content to live in sweatpants. A Bloss & Co. original will save even the most drab outfit and will carry all my baggage with impeccable style. These head-turning handbags will go where I go, and stay where I stay, for as long as we both shall live. Plus, I’ve got a R1000 voucher up for grabs for one lucky Darling!
The message is clear – I’m crushing on Bloss & Co. handbags, big time! The goss about Bloss is that the three owners (Rosheen Kriegler, Marie Rosholt and Sara- Jane Blackie) have canvased the catwalks to bring us the crème de la crème and bags that are bang on trend. Posh totes for the elegant mother, slouchy hobo bags for sassy, working women, clutches for weddings and smart shoppers for everyday essentials. All in butter-soft leather, with gold hardware accents and the utmost attention to detail – these bags are as gorgeous inside as they are out. The best news is that they’re super affordable and you won’t have to resort to living on baked beans on toast (although it would be totes worth it).
All of the Bloss & Co. bags are named after Sara-Jane’s closest friends and each one is styled with this person in mind. There’s the Caroline – a soft, glossy leather tote with gold handles and gold pocket details that is a chic, everyday bag. Then there’s the Gina ‘Mock Croc” leather tote – a two-tone bag with bamboo handles and soft suede lining. The Lady Sara (named of Sara-Jane) is a structured bag with fat tassels and bamboo handles inspired by Downton Abbey – I can so imagine Lady Mary showing off this glam piece.
If this isn’t enough to tempt your purse strings, there are also accessories like edgy leather bracelets, tribal earrings, ballet pumps, purses and make-up bags. You can also zhoozsh up your bag with faux fur pom-poms, sheepskin leather fat tassels and other fun accessories. I love the leather rhino accessory that you can hang onto your bag to give it that extra sass - plus Bloss & Co. donate 25 per cent of the proceeds to the Endangered Wildlife Trust. The trio is also introducing what they refer to as Spikes – these are trends that come just as quickly as they go. Think silk scarves (there a limited supply so you don’t have to worry about bumping into someone with the same item – oh the horror!) and versatile wool capes that you can personalise. Also in the pipeline are personalised nappy bags, pet accessories, chiffon shirts/capes and even collaborations with local artists on a new range.
You can visit the Bloss & Co. showroom in Greenside East by appointment or visit their online store (You will love the autumn/winter collection which you can view online from 1 May!) You can expect to pay anything from R799 to R3250 for a Bloss & Co. original handbag while the make-up bags are priced from R299.
