I love my hair! I do … but some days, it takes on a life of its own and becomes too difficult to deal with. (I’m sure you’ve had those days where you’d rather wear a big bag over your head than show the world your frizzy hair.) Anyway, that’s usually when I know that my hair is in need of some TLC – which is why I paid a visit to Carlton Hair Hyde Park.
Fatima, the manager (as well as master stylist and colourist at Carlton Hair Hyde Park) did my much-needed Brazilian treatment. (Sometimes a lady just needs a good ol’ fashioned Blow Dry to get her hair looking gorgeous again, am I right?) Now, because I have virgin hair on my head – aka hair that has not been coloured or highlighted – my hair was washed before the treatment was applied and it was placed under the dryer for 15 minutes afterwards.
The best part about the whole process is how simple it is – the Marcia Teixeira treatment dried and was ironed into my hair. Fatima then cut and styled my hair to give it that perfect fuss and frizz-free finish. Plus, (and I know you might be wondering about this) the treatment is formaldehyde-free and it lasts for three to six months! (It really is as good as it sounds, Darlings.)
The cost is based on the length of your hair and how much treatment is needed … so for short hair, it will cost you about R1 450, it will cost you R1 850 for medium length hair and R2 450 for long hair. But, as an added bonus, with every Brazilian treatment, Carlton Hair gives you a complimentary sodium chloride-free shampoo and conditioner. (How’s that for a great deal?)
