I’m very sorry but I’m about to TMI you (yes I just used TMI as a verb), and for those of you who don’t know what TMI means it stands for ‘too much information’. I’ve never really been a huge fan of my feet – mostly because for as long as I can remember I’ve suffered from annoying calluses and dry skin (that’s what I get for trying to stay active with four netball games a week). To make matters worse the rest of the skin on my body is also drier than Woody Allen on a chipper day. If, like me, you suffer from dry skin or any other niggly skin condition then you’re going to love today’s find because it’s quite literally the king of sorting out problem skin! Here’s why I’m head-over-heels in love with DMK!

DMK is the brain child of DANNÉ Montague-King, a pioneer in the skin industry who himself suffered from severe skin problems. He sought to find a way to treat his own skin and in the 60s he happened upon a breakthrough involving Vitamin C therapy and hasn’t looked back since. Today the DMK brand is a world-leader in the field of skin rejuvenation and all because of the brand’s simple philosophy of restoring balance and enhancing optimal skin function for every and any skin type. In South Africa alone DMK has helped treat countless clients suffering from dry skin, acne, scarring and more.

With these products the proof really is in the pudding and all you need to do to understand just how fabulous they are is to go for a skin treatment at the DMK headquarters in Sandton. I went through to their in-house treatment centre for a Medi-Pedi and Facial Enthyme Therapy and was blown away by the incredible results after both treatments.

The Medi-Pedi isn’t your typical pampering pedicure but rather an incredibly effective way to remove calluses and hard skin build-up on your feet. I was amazed at the results after just one treatment and now, weeks later, the skin on my feet is still silky smooth and my calluses are yet to rear their ugly head.

The results of the Enzyme Therapy were also quite incredible and my skin felt amazing afterwards. Again, this isn’t a relaxing facial that will make your skin feel good for a day or two after; I felt the enzyme therapy really worked wonders with my skin and my skin felt firm, hydrated and soft for days and days after.

After your treatment your therapist will also prescribe some of the fabulous products for you to take home and prolong the results of your treatment. I was prescribed the Deep Pore Pure cleanser (R325), the Herb and Mineral Mist moister mist (R391) and the Transdermal Sunblock (R391). After my treatment I continued to use the Herb and Mineral Mist, Transdermal Sunblock and DMK’s newest miracle products – Fiberblast C and the TransGenesis Creme.

I used the Herb and Mineral Mist every morning and absolutely loved the way it made my skin feel; since using it I no longer get the usual eleven am tight skin feeling. The sun block is also pretty amazing and I adore that it feels light and nourishing on my skin (none of that oil nonsense).

And then there’s the Fiberblast C (what DMK claims is the world’s most-potent anti-aging solution) and the TransGenesis Creme (which is being marketed as the ultimate luxury cream). The Fiberblast C (R422 per vial) comes in a powder form and can also be used to treat pigmentation and for firming and lifting the skin, and then TransGenesis (R2700 for 50ml) for treating dry and dull-looking skin. I used both products for two weeks and found it definitely worked wonders on my pigmentation - combined with the Mineral Mist my skin felt incredibly hydrated, firm and healthy the entire time I was using it.

The great news is anyone can visit the DMK headquarters for these treatments and to buy the products! The Medi-Pedi will set you back R250 and the Enzyme Treatment R650.
