The Fat Zebra is a relatively new spot in Linden. Darlings, if you’re a coffee snob like me (there’s no shame in admitting it!), you’ve got to add this quaint little café to your list of places to visit. I went for breakfast just the other day … the coffee alone was enough to make me want to come back but wait until you hear about their food offerings!

Last Sunday, a lazy breakfast was in order … my boyfriend and I landed up at The Fat Zebra, having tried their coffee before and making a promise to return for food. Well, we’re sure glad we did!

After getting our caffeine fix in, I ordered the salmon scrambled eggs, while my boyfriend made his own breakfast up (don’t you love places that let you do that?) with creamy scrambled eggs, toasted ciabatta and creamy mushrooms.

My eggs were just the right amount of creamy and the smoked salmon portion was pretty descent … that, coupled with fresh greens on top and perfectly toasted rye (along with some creamy mushrooms I stole from my boyfriend’s plate) ensured that I rolled out of the restaurant ... we both did!

As happy as we were, food envy is the worst, right? Well, when someone else’s pancakes came past, I felt a pang of jealousy and considered changing my order ... but I got over it after my first mouthful of eggs – delicious!

I love the fact that The Fat Zebra is a dog-friendly spot, so there were a couple of people refuelling with their pets after a walk in the hot spring sun. The waiters even bring makeshift water bowls for dogs – cute! I’ll bring my Luna along next time for sure.

All in all, The Fat Zebra did not disappoint – make sure to pop on over to this Linden spot … and don’t leave without a cup (or two) of coffee, Darlings!

Say Hi to The Fat Zebra on .

Elaine If you have a sweet tooth then be sure to try the buttermilk crumpets (flapjack stack with berries, mascarpone, bacon and almonds) as well as The Elvis (toasted ciabatta with peanut butter, fried banana, crispy bacon and syrup)... it is life-changing. Their cakes are also delicious with one of their cappuccinos!
