Joburg is quickly becoming one of the very best places to shop in South Africa! I’m starting to lose count of the amazing international brands that have recently set up shop right here in the City of Gold – Topshop, True Religion, Lucky Brand, Mango, Zara – you name, it we’ve got it! The latest addition to the party is the oh-so-awesome River Island. I cannot tell you how excited I am about this one and I’m sure that after just one look at the pictures of the store and clothes in the pictures below you will be rushing to the newly opened Rosebank store for your River Island fix. Read on to find out why the arrival of River Island is one of the best things to happen to Joburg fashionistas this year!

The legendary high street brand has opened up shop at the ever-stylish Mall of Rosebank and is working with Edcon through an exclusive franchise agreement. Which means you can expect even more stores to open in Joburg over the coming months! River Island is most well known for its stylish and accessible fashion and the unique touches it brings to its collections. The store will stock items that are absolutely perfect for a night out on the town – including fabulous party dresses, amazing denims and beautiful shoes and handbags. Whether you want to look effortlessly chic or turn heads on the dance floor this weekend you will be able to find something at this chic new spot.

I popped into the store recently to find out exactly what you will find in store and what you can expect to pay for these incredible fashion pieces. I found loads of lust-worthy items in store including beautifully elegant dresses and sassy casual pieces. As for the items in store they are all quite different from some of the items you will find at our local retailers. The items are mostly aimed at ladies who like to be a little more daring with their wardrobes and who like to follow trends from season to season. The prices aren’t exactly what I would call cheap but are in the same bracket as Forever New, Topshop and Zara, so if you’re willing to pay a premium for high fashion-style items then you will absolutely love it. The store currently has lots of bright spring colours on the racks and shelves and I immediately started lusting over the bright yellows and deep greens in everything from the shirts and dresses to the handbags and other accessories.

Some of my favourite items for hitting the town definitely include the Blue Abstract Print Cut-out Bodycon Dress (an absolutely stunning cobalt blue dress with an Aztec themed pattern - R829), Suki Sequined Maxi Dress (a ‘wow’ gold coloured floor-length dress with enough shine and shimmer to stop traffic - R1749) and the Sleeveless Maribou Sequin Shift dress (a sassy 1920s-style flapper dress with a feather skirt and a sequence bodice - R3299).

As for the casual looks I fell head over heels in love with the Pink Polka Dot Shirt (a cute pink shirt with white polka dots – R829), Orange Embossed Smart Skort (a tangerine coloured skort with side-zip detail – R629) and Black Cami Swing Dress (a simple, loose fighting dress with metal detail on the neckline – R549). The accessories are also divine - they have some stunning shoes, handbags and purses as well as sunglasses, necklaces and more to help you complete your look so make sure you check those out too!

Renatinha I'm an absolute adicdt to fashion I confess!!! The exhilaration and excitement, a racing heart and anxiousness to see creativity come to life in amazing and beautiful garments is inexplainable! I'm only due to fly to Jhb on Saturday so missing out on Thursday and Friday SA fashion week shows are already causing withdrawals! I'm so proud of some of our SA designers and Suzaan Heyns is definitely one of them Love her work!!! http://ntqmvupykfj.com xiejhwpipy [link=http://aqrbnpbz.com]aqrbnpbz[/link]

Trinity Hey there! I have two reasons for deeesratply wanting tickets to the Suzaan Heyns show. The first is that her Autumn Winter 2012 range looks absolutely fierce, and judging by her lookbook the show will be something inspiring and iconic in SA fashion. That scalloped metallic jacket of hers looks like something I cannot miss seeing in person! The second reason is that my darling little sister is making her debut as ramp model at the show, and I would love to be on the sidelines cheering her (and the designs of course) on Amy
