Tucked into a busy shopping centre is an amazing little restaurant/café called Juno & Co. Keep your eyes peeled because it’s almost hidden amongst all the fast food places … but once you find it, you’ll be so glad you did!
Juno & Co was opened by a husband and wife team, who named this pet-friendly place after their dog. Sweet! The inviting wooden finishes and puffy couches make the space feel very homely, as does the pic of Juno himself – which blends into the décor quite nicely.
The first thing you’ll notice when you walk in is the harvest table. You’ve got to eye out all the freshly prepared food. (Go on, you know you want to.) My sister and I made a beeline for it as we walked in and here’s what we saw: a butternut bake, fishcakes, cold meat, sausages, cabbage salad, potato salad, regular salad, grilled chicken breasts covered in mushrooms … the list goes on! Before we go any further, know this: their meat is grass-fed and free range so you can take comfort in the fact that you’ll be eating good quality stuff.
My sister and I couldn’t decide between the harvest table and the Love Sandwich that sounded so appealing … so, naturally, we ordered both and decided to share. (That was the plan, anyway, until she loaded our plate with so much food that I only managed one or two bites of her half of the sandwich and took mine home for later.) The cheesy, pesto-covered goodness, topped with homemade mayo, will make for the perfect dinner.
Juno & Co also serves a great, strong cappuccino, served in a clear cup – perfect for that lunchtime pick-me-up.
Unfortunately, after all that food (and the coffee on top of it!) there was no room for dessert. Don’t you hate it when that happens? Next time, we’re coming back for one of those Peppermint Crisp tarts!
Juno is open Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 16:00 and Saturday from 08:00 to 13:00.
