You may have noticed that I am on a bit of a fitness trip at the moment. After 6 months of sitting around on my bum after my knee operation I have finally been given the go-ahead to start exercising again, and I’m loving it! While my mobility is still limited it’s great to be able to get my heart rate up again. One thing that I’ve found to be extremely important is keeping track of my progress each week – because there’s no point in working your butt off (literally) if you’re not seeing any real results – and I’ve got the coolest tools ever to help me do it! I recently discovered the joys of the Muvit fitness accessories range and I must say they’ve completely revolutionised the way I work out!

The thing I love most about Muvit is that their products are all about keeping up with you on-the-go. They allow you to stay efficient, fast and on the move and I love them for it. Their products are also designed to work with both Android and iOS devices so no matter what your preference you can take advantage of the added convenience that Muvit products provide. From clever cell-phone cases, cables and on-the-go chargers to screen protectors and selfie sticks, Muvit has got you covered no matter what you want to do with your mobile device. But enough about all the cool stuff they make; what I really want to talk to you about today is their fitness gear – the Muvit Heart Rate Monitor (R499) and the Muvit Jump Foot Pod (R399) - two fitness tools that will help you keep track of your workouts, set goals and push yourself to get better results.

I tried these two gadgets myself and fell in love with them! If you don’t have a personal trainer and find that you’re completely in the dark when it comes to monitoring your efforts in the gym and on the road, then I highly recommend you buy at least one of these nifty little tools. Both gadgets link to your smart phone or tablet through the use of the i-GotU Sports app (available for iOS and Android) and allow you to track and save the progress of your workouts in various ways.

The Muvit Jump Foot Pod attaches to your shoe laces, clips onto your clothing and fits into the mid-sole of compatible shoes and works together with the app to analyse movement such as step count, distance walked or run, number of calories burned, total time of exercise as well as the height, count and intensity of jumps. You can also set the type of activity you are engaging in so the app and gadget can accurately read your movements. The app also allows you to set specific targets and challenges (like distance targets, step targets or time targets) for your specific type of exercise so you’re constantly working towards something. What’s more you can also see all your results displayed by week, month or day. The gadget and app are the perfect training tools if you’re training for a marathon or just want to make sure that you are kicking ass in your workouts.

And, if you really want to take your readings to the next level then you can invest in the Muvit Heart Rate Monitor to accurately measure your heart rate when training. The heart rate monitor straps to your chest and gives you super accurate readings of your heart rate during workouts. As I mentioned the device is also compatible with the i-GotU Sports app and allows you to feed even more info to your smartphone when training. Another awesome function of the app and the gadget working together is that you can also use the app to listen to music during your workout and set an encouraging clip or song to play at specific points in your workout (for example when you’ve almost reached your heart rate goal for your workout) for self motivation.

Together with the i-GotU Sports app these Muvit fitness products are unbelievably awesome. I love how much they’ve helped me to track my progress and they’ve motivated me to keep going. Either gadget would make an awesome Christmas gift for a fitness enthusiast!

The Muvit Heart Rate Monitor (R499) and the Muvit Jump Foot Pod (R399) are both available to order online from cellularmall.co.za.
