I recently celebrated my daughter’s third birthday party at The Mighty Jungle in Bedfordview. I had heard about it from a few of my mom friends, and to be honest when I heard it was a house converted into a party venue, I was a bit sceptical. Until I arrived to make my booking and didn’t hesitate for one second.
Nadia and Sonia, who started the venture 18 years ago, really knew what they were doing when they converted a very big garden into a beautiful play area. From sand pits, to slides, a variety of jungle gyms and more, this children’s party venue offers something for kids of all ages –plus, a lovely area for parents to relax, have a bite to eat and enjoy the function. And the best part is, your guests are under cover in case one of those horrible Joburg storms hit.
The venue hire is just R1 900 – and if you think that’s a lot, think again. For what they offer, it’s not only affordable, but worth every cent. And they will do all your décor and party packs, too (at an additional price, of course) which makes your life as a parent so much easier. While we all want to be a party planner for a day, let’s face it, life is busy and not all moms are able to get that done alone. Plus, it will probably cost you double the price to do yourself.
My daughter’s theme was Frozen, and they did an incredible job with the décor. Even the adults were talking about. Their platters were delicious and affordable, and we didn’t have to worry about a thing – except entertaining our guests and chasing our kids around the big playground, that is.
Nadia’s daughter, Flavia (also known as 'The Paint Facer’ by the kids) did a fab job keeping the 30 kids happy and looking oh-so-adorable. Other extras include a jumping castle and waterslide – I wasn’t that brave with 30 three-year-olds. Maybe next year!
So if you’re looking for an easy and fun party venue, check them out on Facebook. They offer two party slots: between 10:00-13:00 and 14:00-17:00 – and best you book in advance as they are very popular. Also make sure to add ‘The Paint Facer’ to your booking – you can contact Flavia on .
