Darlings, there are so many ways to contour your body these days, it’s overwhelming! That’s why I’ve taken the time to put together a list of five non-invasive treatments with zero down time from BTL Aesthetics SA (how stunning is that?). The best part about this list is that it covers state-of-the-art products across three medical areas – cardiology, physiotherapy and aesthetics ... here we go!

1. BTL Vanquish

BTL Vanquish is a non-invasive fat removal treatment that lasts (trust me … it’s amazing!). You basically get to sit comfortably and relax while your fat is selectively targeted and disrupted (just so you know, the industry’s largest spot size covers the abdomen from flank to flank). Anyway, the treatment session is short and pleasant, and you can do your stomach, legs and even back fat. For BTL Vanquish, it takes about 45 to 60 minutes of treatment time and you should probably do four to six sessions once a week or once every two weeks.

It’s also recommended that you combine this with the X-Wave treatment (this involves seven minutes of X-Wave on your abdomen before and seven minutes of X-Wave after the Vanquish treatment in order to ‘ignite’ the lymph system, as well as approximately 15 minutes plus another 15 minutes of X-Wave on your legs, before and after the Vanquish treatment). It will cost you about R2 500 to R3 000 per session. For more info, .

2. Lymphatism

Lymphatic drainage is a well-established and clinically-proven therapeutic method that delivers immediate and visible results. BTL’s Lymphastism is based on the pneumatic presso-therapy principle (super technical, I know!). In a nutshell, special applicator sleeves with multiple overlapping chambers give you a gentle massage that encourages the natural circulation of the lymph through the body (sounds simpler now, right?).

Lymphatism will cost you around R250 to R300 per 30-minute session, and it’s recommended that sessions are six to 10 weeks apart. Also, why not do Lymphatism after each slimming or detox treatment that you do? You should know, though, for medical reasons, the frequency as well as the number of treatments can differ. Having said that … even for aesthetic purposes, you can go every day or every second day for a lymph massage.

3. Intima

Intima is a non-invasive, zero-pain and zero-downtime option (have I got your attention yet?). With BTL Intima, the vulva area is heated using radio frequency to stimulate collagen synthesis. In essence, after the first 20-minute, in-office treatment, the vulva shows immediate plumpness and tightness. The difference between the before and after photos is quite dramatic … and it’s not just about aesthetics. As you continue with the four recommended sessions – a week apart – lubrication of the area improves, as does sexual satisfaction (we’re all ladies here, right?).

The psychological benefits are even more amazing – you’ll feel more desirable, sexy and youthful … so now you can regain your sensuality with a revolutionary treatment that is quick, effective and totally painless. Intima is a 30-minute treatment, and it’s recommended that you do four sessions once a week. It will cost you about R2 700 to R3 200 per session.

4. Exilis Elite

Exilis’ system represents the world’s most advanced technology for body shaping, skin tightening and facial rejuvenation. Just so you know, Exilis Elite is the only monopolar RF (Radio Frequency) system to incorporate ultrasonic energy into a one hand piece (super sophisticated!). Exilis causes shrinking of loose tissue in the short term, as well as long term collagen production that lifts and tightens loose skin over time. Between you and me, it’s useful in areas such as jowls, neck, brows and especially the abdomen.

The Exilis Elite treatment is about R2 000 per hour, and covers six palm sizes (so basically six areas of 10x20cm) for slimming or for the full face. The best part is that for smaller, more specific areas, the rate will be adjusted according to size of treatment area and the time required. It’s recommended that sessions are done four to six weeks apart.

5. X-Wave

As mentioned earlier, acoustic waves are extremely strong, non-focused sound pulses that induce vibration within the body. In aesthetic medicine, the acoustic radial soft waves have been successfully modified to the clinical needs of cellulite therapy and for the treatment of other aesthetic conditions (you’ve got to love technology, am I right?). X-Wave is a new US FDA approved, non-invasive aesthetic device for the reduction of cellulite using acoustic wave technology. Eight to ten sessions at weekly intervals give the best results for most people.

The acoustic waves used in X-Wave break down the adhesive fibrous bands in the skin, which leads to the puckering and dimpling of cellulite. Thus X-Wave treatments gradually improve visible cellulite. It’s mostly used for anti-cellulite therapy, connective tissue tightening, skin rejuvenation and elasticity increase, reducing the appearance of stretch marks, and minimising unsightly scars. X-Wave is about R1 500 per session, and it’s recommended that you do eight sessions twice a week.

Vienna All these treatments sound so nice and needs 2, 4 or 6 sessions which add up and there is no guarantee. The only instant results with little discomfort for much less money and lasting results, is HD Vaser Liposculpting done by the right Doctor.
