Coco Chanel once said, “A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.” I couldn’t agree more. While I’m not one to doll up to go buy groceries - yes ladies, you know who you are - I do always make an effort before leaving home. To help us do that, check out my favourite fashionable clothing stores.
Ladies, the truth is when I get dressed up, it’s not to impress anyone, but to feel confident and happy with myself. When you look good, you feel amazing, am I right? So why not put in an extra 10 minutes each morning to ensure a fabulous day ahead?
I came across this hilarious quote on social media recently. “Every time you get dressed, remember that, if you die, that’s going to be your ghost outfit.” That’s definitely something to think about next time you’re about to throw on your oldest tracksuit – which probably doesn’t even match.
Now before you have a panic attack, I’m here to help you revamp that wardrobe, so that you can look gorgeous – all year round. These are my five favourite stores to shop at:
YDE
While they do focus on the younger generation, they have a variety of items to keep any shopper happy. From tight-fitting and flattering body suits, to jumpsuits, smart shorts and bling tops, they are the perfect shop to go to when you’re looking for a party outfit, or just a few items to keep you trendy.
Zara
They eventually made their way to SA - and there wasn’t a single person happier than me. For all those who have shopped at a Zara store in Europe, you’ll know how fab they are. For the rest of you, welcome to the club. They cater for men and women of all ages, and different clothing personalities. Plus, they have a gorgeous range for the kiddies. Going in could leave your purse a little lighter, but at least it’s a one-stop shop for the whole family.
River Island
While they can be a little pricey at times, they know what fashion is all about and they’re there to keep you looking stunning. Men, women and kids can find great pieces - from casual jeans, to formal wear, they’ve got everything you need to get heads turning.
Cotton On
They’re probably the best on the pocket - and they also know how to make modern-meets-comfy clothing. From skinny jeans to hoodies, awesome pumps and stylish gym wear, Cotton On will keep your everyday wardrobe looking just fine.
Country Road, Woolworths
Woolies has upped their game recently, but Country Road really knows how to steal our attention. Their clothes, shoes and bags are to-die-for - and the quality is impeccable. You won’t be sorry you shopped there.
