As you all know I can be a bit of greenie - I love finding products that are super friendly to you, your skin and the environment. It’s always a tough job trying to cover all the bases when it comes to beauty blogging because I know I have to feature some of the bigger brands when they launch fabulous products, but I also feel a responsibility to share the not-so well-known products with you - especially when they are natural and environmentally friendly. I try my best to tell you all about the very best products out there and provide you with fabulous alternatives should you feel like you don’t want to use more main-stream products for whatever reason. Today’s find is a bit of a mixture of both – they’re actually a massive international brand but not as well known in South Africa as they should be and, what’s more, they also place a huge focus on being natural and safe for you and the environment! Ladies, I introduce to you, the oh-so-fabulous Zoya!

Although the brand isn’t big in South Africa, Zoya is well known overseas for creating the first fast working drying topcoat and the longest wearing, toxin free natural nail polish – the brand pretty much revolutionized the nail industry and it’s about time South Africa sat up and took notice. They were also one of the first beauty brands to remove toxic ingredients such as toluene, camphor, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin and DBP (dibutyl phthalate) from its formulations and focus on the health and well being of salons, spas and their consumers. Their products are extremely innovative yet they still manage to keep their products as natural as possible.

Zoya is constantly releasing fabulous new colours and styles into the range and I am often amazed at the stuff they come up with. The brand is known for being ahead of the trends as well and released things like leather-look and matte polish long before they became trendy all around the world. Zoya girls are always one step ahead of the international trends and I absolute love the brand for that.  The Zoya Zenith winter collection this year is all kinds of stunning with beautiful dark blues, purples, burgundies, silvers and plenty of shine and shimmer. I absolutely love the dark blue Dream polish which is described as a deep space blue with a holographic glitter, as well as the light blue Mosheen polish which is described as a shimmery astro ice blue that is great for layering over other hues. Their fall collection, Cashmere and Satins, is also stunning and I have fallen in love with the dark grey Claudine polish which is described as a striking dark meteorite grey, and the purple Neve polish which is described as a sapphire blue metallic polish.

But the brand isn’t just well-known for their nail polish – they also have a sister company that sells amazing spa products that work hand-in-hand with the Zoya products. Trust me when I say these products will change your life! I got to try the Qtica Intense Herbal Exfoliating Foot Scrub and instantly fell in love with it. The scrub is an exfoliant and paraffin treatment all-in-one product and acts like a liquid pumice to lift the rough, dry skin from the foot while also leaving it moisturised and soft. I have never seen a product that works such wonders on my feet before and I had some serious dry skin and calluses from netball. The product works wonders after just one treatment and is ideal for treating dry, cracked heels and cracking on the balls of the feet from sandal wear. The Qtica range features everything from hand and lip repair products to intense nail growth stimulators, nail strengthening products and cuticle oils.

Zoya and Qtica are available at various salons in and around Joburg. You can also buy directly from the supplier here in South Africa. For a full list of stockists contact Zoya South Africa using the contact details in the little pink box in the top right hand corner of this post.

Asha Love! Have "cleaned up" most of my skincare and beauty products but was struggling to replace my old nail polish with a greener version - this sounds perfect.
