Oh, you are going to LOVE Exquizitly Yours – a brand new shop in Parkhurst that will appeal to anyone with a sweet tooth, those planning a wedding or party, and moms who are looking for a place to take the kids or to meet another mom for tea!
Exquizitly Yours’ specialty is actually cakes – for weddings, TV shows (their cakes have been featured on Top Billing), high-profile events (they baked Jacob Zuma’s wife’s 60th birthday cake), and any function you can think of. No job is too big or too small – and anything your mind can imagine, they will create for you. Just one look at the gallery of images on their website – see the link below – and you will get an idea of what they can produce. It is amazing.
But it’s their new shop in Parkhurst that caught my attention. The shop is aimed at those wanting to pop in and buy something yummy – gorgeous cupcakes (the Red Velvet is the current best-seller), biscuits (try the marshmallow or fudge first), tarts and cakes – or those looking for a spot to meet a friend for tea. Moms will love the enclosed courtyard with three “pretend” ovens where the kids can play, not to mention the DIY Cupcakes where they can decorate their own cupcakes to eat or to take home. (It is very rare to find a spot in Parkhurst where the kids can play safely, so this is a fabulous perk).
Kids of all ages will love the Gourmet Milkshakes on offer – I can’t wait to try the Oreo, Jelly Tot or Smartie varieties with Kayla, and I think this is the perfect venue to catch up with your kids after school and enjoy some quality time with them. And as the venue seats up to 30 guests, this is also a stunning venue to meet friends for a Birthday High Tea. (High Tea is actually served daily, so keep that in mind when looking for somewhere new to visit!)
Freshly-made cakes can also be purchased off the shelf, but it is best to order ahead. Gluten-free and wheat-free cakes are also available on order – and there is a wide selection from which to choose, which is an added bonus for those with allergies!
