Have you ever had a really strong craving for Italian? (I am obviously referring to the food here.) Well … I have that craving pretty much 24/7! That’s why I’ve been dying to try out Remo’s Fratelli Maximilliano in Waterfall Corner Mall – and I’m so glad I did! The restaurant does serve up a bit of everything, though, so no matter who you go with, there’s something for everyone.

Walking into Remo’s, the first thing you’ll notice is the design and décor – it’s simply stunning and has clearly been well thought out. The wooden tables give the restaurant a homey feel … that being said, the Vespa that dangles above the bar definitely gives Remo’s that “wow” factor. (In fact, Remo’s even won the 2014 RDDA award in the Store & Restaurant Design Category!)

The vibe of the place is great, with quirky signs around the venue saying things like ‘Unsupervised kids will be given a shot of espresso and a free puppy!’ and some rad music coming out of the speakers too.

Onto the food … sure, most restaurants serve bread to silence the stomach rumbles you might experience when sitting down to eat but Remos’ bread is different – the fresh, crusty ciabatta is truly delicious and could even be a meal on its own (resist the urge to finish it all – you’ll be sorry when mains come along!).

My boyfriend and I went the Italian route (obviously) … I ordered the Pasta Con Funghi, which was a creamy mushroom pasta cooked with garlic, white wine, thyme, a dash of fresh cream, truffle oil and garnished with Grana Padano. (Yes, it was rich and yes, it was delicious!) My boyfriend’s mushroom, olive and artichoke pizza turned out to be one of those rustic, square pizzas, with a thin and crispy base – sorry, boyfriend, but I definitely won this round.

From where we were sitting, their dessert spread was in full view. Sadly, we didn’t leave much room for treats, but we’ll certainly be back for some of that cake next time!

Check Remo’s out for yourself and don’t forget to pop past the adjoining deli to have a look at their sweet treats and pasta for sale. Pantry essentials sorted!

Say Hi to Remo’s Maximilliano on .
