I’m about to confess something that I’ll probably regret confessing later … here goes. I would absolutely love to get in shape for the summer season, but I’m just too lazy to! I usually start an exercise routine with enthusiasm and then somewhere along the way, it fizzles out (I know some of you can relate). That’s perhaps why I was slightly intrigued by Fallyn’s experience with BTL.

I’ve been telling myself that we all need a little help when it comes to losing weight (and no, I’m not just making excuses for my clear lack of commitment and willpower). Luckily for you and me, BTL specialises in doing this with the help of technology. They have a bunch of different treatments (which means you and I are spoilt for choice) – Fallyn decided to go for three … talk about an eager beaver!

The first treatment, known as Lymphastim, sounds like an interesting experience. She says she climbed into what looked like a sleeping bag, which covered half her body (so basically her toes to her rib cage), and it gently pulse massaged her. Believe it or not, this process helps fight against cellulite and is the perfect solution for volume reduction and body shape remodelling (I know that sounds hectic but Fallyn says it’s really not). It will cost you about R250 – R300 per a 30-minute session.

Another treatment to try is the EXILIS Elite treatment. According to Fallyn, this is hands down the most powerful treatment system available for fat reduction and cellulite reduction. Plus, she says there’s no down time and it’s not invasive (which is definitely a relief for me, how about you?). Without using too many long and complicated words, it uses radiofrequency and high intensity ultrasound to eliminate fat and to tighten your skin. Plus, it’s for all skin types! This treatment is a bit pricier than the others at R2 000 per hour.

Finally, you can also give the X-Wave (which Fallyn calls the fat hammer for some reason) a try. It basically uses specifically-modified acoustic wave pulses to make the tissue firmer and tighter. It’s painless and the best part is that there are no side effects! (It almost sounds too good to be true … and yet it’s not!) The cost for this treatment is about R1 500 per session.

So Darlings, with so many treatments to choose from, I guess I (I mean ‘we’) have no reason to dread the upcoming, bikini-clad summer season!

Joburg's Darling Hi Martine, it would probably be best to phone their head office on as they have a number of providers throughout SA. Regards
